News for the 2026-2027 School Year
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to share exciting news regarding enrollment in our elementary school. Due to increased enrollment in our lower elementary grades, we will be expanding to three sections each in kindergarten, first grade, second grade, and third grade for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.
This growth is something we celebrate. It reflects the strength of our school community and the confidence families place in our district. We are grateful for the continued trust and support.
To accommodate these additional sections, we will be advertising to add two staff members to our team. With this change, we also recognize we will be experiencing some growing pains as we believe we are using every room in the elementary already this year so placing of two more classrooms is in question. We are currently in the preliminary stages of brainstorming room placements and possible rearrangements to best utilize our existing spaces within the Elementary as well as the MS/HS. As we work through this process, several options are being considered. Maintaining a PK-5 building might include:
Possible room sharing arrangements for some interventionists
Creatively repurposing space, such as utilizing a different area for the staff lounge & using the lounge for an intervention (title, special education, EL, OT) room
Or if we do not find a suitable solution in the elementary building, we may explore the potential use of space in the MS/HS building to create a 5th and 6th grade intermediate schedule in a hallway while considering all things such as recess, another lunch period, title services, etc.
At this time, no space decisions or room assignments have been finalized. We are carefully evaluating all possibilities to ensure that any adjustments support student learning, staff collaboration, and overall school safety and efficiency.
Please know that our leadership and staff team is working diligently to develop a thoughtful plan that prioritizes the needs of all learners. As plans become more defined, we will communicate updates with you.
We are truly excited about this growth and the opportunities it brings to strengthen our programs and school community. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.
Sincerely,
Molly Schilling
Superintendent
